Floaters

Almost finished.
Bits of stick, leaves, roots, weeds from my back door.
Simple, banded, landscape and patterned water.
The challenge is to paint a square landscape 1200x1200mm.
Each squarescape is to be painted in a different style to the
previous one. Keep on painting squarescapes on the side while
doing other paintings. Produce squarescapes for the rest of my life
or until I can stand it no longer.

Symbol

Mystery maze, there stands the man between east and west.
Method maze, science is my master and Saviour .
The rocks have eyes the leaves have limbs.
The symbol represents.
But, he shall have none of this.

Eighties

Person

I drew this at a dinner party; finished off at home.
A person, I knew, a wife of a friend, we always had a good laugh.
Phillip liked it but that was not enough.
We don't see each other as much anymore and the friend
has moved far away.
The hands defiant, the table centered, the door open and revealing.
The clock can just be seen, time fades away.
Look at me, into my eyes and
redeem the time.

Mirror

Through a glass darkly,
smoky lens late night,
plodding along.
Giacometti me.
Scratch the surface, reveal the true face,
do I resemble myself.
Late night drawing,
College days.

Modern

Life drawing class at college.
How do you make a nude not a nude.
How do you break the conventions of nude drawing classes.

First - Change your drawing style with every drawing.
Second - Ignore the nude bits.
Third - Look the other way.
Fourth - Put your nude in a different context when you get home.
Fifth - Never believe it's just practice; try to make it Art.
Sixth - Make the mistakes, the bits your proud of.
Seventh - Ignore the instructor.
Eighth - Work in mix Media.
Ninth - Never try to get it right.
Tenth - Give it a strange title, and pass it of as Art. Whew!

Blonde

Rotating in 360 degrees,
on a trip to Caloundra.
Mr Blonde looking at the space
between his hands.
Chasing the wind, this too is vanity.
Red is to green, as blue is to orange, as purple is to yellow.
Fragmentation.
Lamentation.
Lost in Space.

Vulture

College days, riding a bike
with a folio of Art under my arm.
Living on Vulture St drinking apple cider.
Sharing a house with Judy, Scott and Tony.
My Elephant is missing and I have many shoes.
Great black voids appear in my Artwork.
Gates to experience, metaphysical page warps
signifying something other.
Not nothing.

Picasso

Mountain girls with Picasso heads,
in a valley of green, standing before the
once great Coonowrin;
and his tears run off into the sea.

Falling

Falling into the suburbs, snapped on polaroid,
a camera from the collection,
I arrived from the southern states,
ever to remain, to a black and white landscape.
Like a character added to a Howard Arkley,
forever set in a Gold Coast canal development.

Hand

Dead man's hand from the cover of time,
glasshouse mountain ancient and still,
the grass withers,
the sea is salt.
